Hi, my name is Jacqueline, I'm a cinema photo student here. I use she/her pronouns and I have minors in audio production, and writing for film, TV, and emerging media. This weekend we're filming for my friend's ACP film called, "Gum". So I will take you there. We have some pretty early mornings, but that's the life of the film kid. Good morning, everyone. Welcome to another vlog on the Ithaca College YouTube channel. Right now, I'm headed off to brunch. See you soon. Alrighty, so my class today is audio production, and we're working on our midterm project, where we're doing a four minute like radio play with original scripts. Everyone's out doing location sound or like in a studio doing foley, but I have all my equipment. I've got five mics, our recorder, a bunch of other stuff. So I'm recording my own audio, which you shouldn't do. But I'm going to do it anyways. And I'm getting chased by a werewolf in this scenario. I need to change the name. I'm gonna start. I'm gonna start talking. Okay, ready? All right. This is girl dialogue take one-- "Stop... Leave me alone-- Leave me alone". That was great-- That was great. So after my class, I had to rush back for work and was in a meeting-- was in some meetings for two hours-- can't really talk about much. We discussed how a character design would be animated which would be fun, and then I grabbed dinner with David as well as Lolly, Mel, and Seal and now we're gonna go get boba. Woo! Walking into Wegman's -- got the boba. Back from Wegmans and Boba, and Mel and I are winding down for the night. We finished up some homework-- did some stuff. I clearly showered. And we're going to watch an episode of Big Little Lies. Tomorrow is going to be interesting. I have a lot of things to do for Red Winter, the slasher film, and so I'll take you out on that. It's been a tough day, but we keep going. We keep going. We take dance breaks, and we chug along. Good morning, everyone. We are on the set of "Gum". Hey, Ryan. How you feeling? It's early. It's early. So I'm the sound designer. Ryan is a writer and Assistant Producer, right? Yeah, I don't really know. I'm just kind of here. Would you like to explain what "Gum" is? I mean, there's a couple different definitions but you could call it-- it's usually something you chew. Pretty good-- I'm clever. I'm the clever one. Yeah, I'm like Joey from Friends. Wait no Chandler-- that's the one. "Gum" don't get stuck in the past. Yeah, gum. It's a time travel film. About a guy trying to have the perfect date. But he really can't get it right even though he can time travel. Nice. Magic pocket watch-- Yeah-- this is Celia, our lovely assistant director. Mel would you like to say hi to the vlog. Producer and director over here, Marta and Max, would you like to say hi to the vlog? This is Marta-- Where's Max? There's Max. Max, our DP and Marta our first AC-- First assistant camera. We've got all of our equipment, props. Okay, so some absolute essentials that I bring for when I'm doing sound is these like microphone covers? This way instead of using like a clip, in order to clip a [INAUDIBLE] to them, and like having that awkward pull on their shirt, they can just put it underneath it it sticks to them. Of course. Totally batteries because microphones eat up batteries like all hell. Okay, we're in the flower shop. We just wrapped for day one. And now, Mel, wants to make it TikTok. So we're doing great. Jackie, can you move a little closer? Jackie's doing her own thing and we're trying to call film a TikTok here. Oh my goodness. This is where the IC YouTube channel and I understand that this is for the IC TikTok-- but I don't know. Post set lunch. Sushi burritos and boba. Okay, we're officially back from set. We had lunch. Got boba, and now I'm working on "Red Winter" stuff. I'm seeing if we can film in the natural lands of Ithaca College, which is basically the campus woods that are like behind towers and stuff like that, and then I need to work on some sound editing for class. And so a writing project that's the rest of my Saturday before I go hang out with friends. Working on the "Red Winter" schedule. We got a lot of film days ahead of us. No. Holding the parking spot guys. We love our PA's.We are on set. We have been bageled and coffeed. How are you feeling Rob? Doing all right. Woo! About to shoot our first scene. Speeding-- [INAUDIBLE] take two-- action! Part of "Gum" is that someone is that our main character steps in to a bunch of gum. And so that's pretty interesting. So a bunch of people have been chewing gum--the gum. Alrighty, it is around 3:30 in the afternoon, and we are picture wrapped for "Gum". I offloaded all the audio files onto my laptop for backup. And right now we are filming cast and key crew like key creatives. So like Mel, Ryan, and of course our main two actors blowing bubblegum for the credits. Allah like very similar to booksmart in there end credits, so it's been a long day. Been here since about 8am but very much worth it. Now that we're done filming, I grabbed some dinner with friends. And now I'm off to edit for my audio production class in the park labs. Film girl life. I am back in my dorm after working on my audio project. It went really well. I got out like an hour early. Director and producer Mel, here of "Gum". How do you feel this weekend has gone? I feel great-- Couldn't ask for a smoother set. I am starving now though. I think all I ate was like a bagel today. This is what happens. Yeah, I had like a bagel and the croissant. And then I came back and then finally had dinner. But now it's like 10pm and we're like we won't food but everwhere is closed. And so we're just snacking, and now we have obscene amounts of coffee in jars-- in our fridge. And that's on set life but-- I'm so happy. Really excited-- I could've asked for it to go better very excited for the ACP fiction screening, and really excited to work on this for sound editing and I hope that people jump on this project because it's gonna be really fun. Anyways. See you next time. Sorry. You are mistaking my ability to think thoroughly today. Look at her doing such a great job. Look at all them. Backup camera guys-- and we needed Double A batteries.
